The Reverend Eddie Lake currently serves as the devoted Pastor of Allen Chapel AME Church in Daytona Beach, Florida. Hailing from Tarpon Springs, Reverend Lake's journey of faith and leadership began early in life. He graduated from Tarpon Springs High School before attending the University of Florida, where he joined Coach Steve Spurrier’s first recruiting class in 1990. As a defensive back, he not only excelled on the field but also pursued academic excellence, earning a degree in business in 1995.

Answering a higher calling, Reverend Lake pursued theological studies at Turner Theological Seminary, part of the Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta, Georgia. He earned his Master of Divinity degree in Theology, equipping him with the spiritual and intellectual tools needed to lead and inspire. His commitment to education and spiritual growth continues, as he is currently studying towards a doctoral degree.

As the Pastor of Allen Chapel AME Church, Reverend Lake has made a profound impact on the congregation and the wider Daytona Beach community. His tenure at Allen Chapel is marked by a deep and unwavering commitment to spiritual development, community engagement, and social justice. Under his leadership, the church has flourished, becoming a beacon of hope and faith for its members and the surrounding community.

Reverend Lake’s approach to ministry is rooted in the belief that the church must be a catalyst for positive change, both within its walls and in the broader society. He has initiated a number of programs and initiatives aimed at enhancing the spiritual life of the congregation while also addressing the practical needs of the community. Through his sermons, teachings, and pastoral care, he has nurtured a vibrant and inclusive church environment where all are welcome and valued.

Beyond the pulpit, Reverend Lake is deeply involved in numerous organizations that align with his mission to serve and uplift. His dedication to community service extends to his active participation in local and regional organizations focused on education, social justice, and economic development. He has worked closely with the Lakeland NAACP, served as a member of the Superintendent Search Citizens Screening Committee, and contributed his leadership skills to the Police Athletic League (PAL) and the Polk County Sheriff Advisory Council. His involvement with the City of Lakeland Community Redevelopment Agency, as well as his role as co-chair of the Polk Ecumenical Action Council for Empowerment (P.E.A.C.E.), highlights his commitment to addressing systemic issues and advocating for underserved communities.

At Allen Chapel, Reverend Lake has fostered a spirit of unity and collective purpose. He believes in empowering others to lead, encouraging his congregation to take active roles in ministry and outreach. His leadership has inspired many to deepen their faith, engage in meaningful service, and contribute to the church’s mission of spreading the gospel and serving others.

Reverend Lake’s ministry is complemented by the partnership he shares with his wife, the Reverend Dr. Paula Lake. Known affectionately as Dr. P, she is also an ordained Itinerant Elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church and an adjunct professor at Southeastern University. Together, they are dedicated to nurturing the spiritual and personal growth of their congregation while raising their three children in a home filled with faith and love.
